An individual first becomes involved by registering.  Everyone who registers is endowed by UIF to engage UIF mentoring resources of Navigation, Knowledge and Empowerment. Also, for each individual, endowment automatically and simultaneously initiates a personal My Mentorsphere™ enterprise and activates UIF’s Navigation mentoring resource and its operational mentoring infrastructure.

Navigation has one expansive and flexible level of participation that can be used in a number of different ways. Protégés use Navigation for creating, organizing, activating and engaging UIF, and their own personal, mentoring resources in pursuit of their dreams. Mentors or other Individual Participants may do the same with their own Navigation mentoring resource, or they may also decide to use it to store, organize, administer and manage their individual UIF mentoring activities.

Two purposeful types of focused mentoring enterprises engage Navigation, each with a related but specific purpose.  One is My Mentorsphere™, which is your personal and confidential focused mentoring enterprise.  The other is Venture Mentorsphere™, which is a development and commercialization entrepreneurial venture or a personal interest, shared participation and education entrepreneurial venture. Operationally, the actual focused use of each Mentorsphere™ enterprise venture is determined and organized by its Leader.  (See Mentorsphere™ Participation for more.)

Once involved, the endowed individual becomes an Individual Participant and then has the opportunity to engage additional endowed UIF mentoring resources in the two arenas of Knowledge and Empowerment, as well as their personally selected mentoring resources.

Each of Knowledge and Empowerment are mentoring resources that have four levels of individual participation, each progressively more complete than the one before it.  At the time they register, all Individual Participants are endowed and encouraged to participate in the very simple Self-Evaluation level of participation.  (See Three Arenas of Participation for more.)
 
Individuals engage Knowledge by making a self-selection of their personal inventory choices. This resource is designed to enable you to self-select your own understanding of your motivations, abilities and personality style.  Your self-choice selections are then converged to help you personally recognize, identify and understand your unique set of core strengths.

With Empowerment, you use it to empower yourself with an understanding of your Hierarchy of Values, Risk Temperament and Individual Learning Preference. You complete the Empowerment arena by forming, refining and starting to focus your dreams, developing the passion to pursue them and identifying the obstacles in your way of achieving them.

Knowledge and Empowerment mentoring resources are made available to individuals who need assistance in forming or confirming their dreams and in empowering themselves to pursue them using the Navigation mentoring resource.
